Corel is a very powerful illustration program. Done correctly, it can be used for illustration or page layout; though we recommend illustration only.
You must assign color carefully, to be either spot pantone colors or process colors. Corel offers no way that we know of to globally change a color that has already been assigned to an object. This means that you would have to select each "gold" item individually, and change them to pantone gold.
When possible, convert your type into paths or outlines; this will nullify font concerns.
Be sure to include all your placed graphics even though Corel may embed them.
